Lloyd Wehunt
Lloyd Wehunt reigned supreme in the 148 -181 lb weight classes from the early 1970's to 1982.  As a 165 lb lifter he deadlifted 665 and as a 181 lb lifter, he deadlifted 710.   With minimal gear he squatted well into the 600's and benched around 400 without bench shirts.  A fine gentleman on, and off the platform, Lloyd was a regular at all meets during his time.

Lloyd Wehunt lifted as early as 1970, but in 1974 shocked everyone with his strength with a 500 deadlift at 148.  He soon dominated the 165 lb class and then 181's becomming the first elite lifter in North Carolina.  He truly is one of N.C.'s superstars with a lifting career spanning 12 years. Lloyd would always pitch in and help at meets if he wasn't lifting, and was a true friend to all.
